Myo Kyi

Aungmingalar Township

Magway Region

Start Date:

June 2025

Myo Kyi grew up in a Christian home in Thayet, regularly attending church and participating in the local youth group. However, despite his involvement, he did not have a personal relationship with God. He believed that attending church and doing good deeds were enough to attain salvation. During this time, he also struggled with alcohol, smoking, and betel nut addiction.

In August 1988, everything changed when he attended a seven-day salvation camp. There, for the first time, he encountered God personally and came to understand His will. Myo Kyi gave his life to Christ during that week, and he has never looked back.

Professionally, Myo Kyi completed a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and worked in the Forestry Department for 40 years, serving in Aung Lan, Thayet, and Taunggyi.

He married his wife, Khin Mar Oo, in 1982, and together they have raised two sons and a daughter, all now adults.

Since committing his life to Christ in 1988, Myo Kyi has passionately shared the Gospel with both believers and non-believers. In 1991, he moved from Taunggyi to Thayet Myo in the Magwe Region to serve as the head of evangelism at Ahsho Chin, a role he held for eight years. For the past 20 years, he and his wife have faithfully led a church in Thayet.

While working in Aung Lan, Myo Kyi felt a strong spiritual calling to the area. In response, he purchased a plot of land with the hope of one day planting a church there. In 2022, he retired from secular work and is now preparing to realise that dream. He and his wife are excited to plant a new church in Aungmingalar, Aung Lan.
