Saw Lu

Ayetharyar

Shan State

Start Date:

June 2025

Saya Saw Lu grew up in a Christian community but had never truly given his life to God. He tried to live a good life, do good deeds and regularly attended church. He was actively involved in church programs and obeyed his parents, believing that these things would secure his place in heaven. However, he did not understand salvation or the true message of Jesus.

At the age of seventeen, he attended a salvation seminar at a nearby church where he heard what Jesus had done for him on the cross. That night, he received Jesus as his Lord and personal Saviour. From that moment on, he began sharing his testimony and the Good News with his family.

A few years later, Saw Lu enrolled at Phema Christian Theological College in Yangon. After graduating in 2018, he began serving as an evangelist at Kyaw Taike AG Church. In 2019, he joined GTP’s three-month Equippers Training. He then returned to his church, where he continued to serve faithfully for another three years. During this time, he married Pa Pa Nu and together they welcomed two beautiful children.

In 2024, Saw Lu felt the Lord calling him and his family to plant a new church in the unreached community of Ayetharyar in Taung Gyi Myo, Shan State.

Saw Lu has a heart for the people of Ayetharyar and has already begun building relationships with locals and sharing the gospel with nearby villages. He dreams of creating a multi-ethnic community of believers worshipping together. He also has a vision to care for orphans and underprivileged children in the region by supporting their education and running Sunday school programs.
